rise of the 850i

Hello fellow friends, I just got a 1991 850i 6 spd, just curious as to if I need parts, where can I get it? Also I like to do some modification to the car...like lighter aftermarket parts, convert to HID lights, and more horsepower, like turbo, etc, anyone know a place that can do it?? I live in San Diego, CA. Thx.

You can order parts from most any BMW supplier, Arizona AutoHaus in our Marketplace section, Pelican parts, Bav Auto, BMP Design, to mention a few. Post a photo of you car when you can.

Congrats! We've had our 850 since it was brand new, it's a wonderful car. I will agree, very very expensive to maintain. I just had intake manifold gaskets all redone, and wow.......that was a pleasant surprise.

It is not a race car. If you want a fast car, get an M3 or M5. It is a luxury touring coupe. Dinan chips and K&N air filters will help.

your going to paint it black? That would be very $$$$ to do it right. you have any idea how much? I do. color changes are not easy things to do. You must have deep pockets indeed.
